Color Wheel

Writer's picture: Anna KnaufAnna Knauf

The color wheel was originally designed on adobe illustrator, then printed. The pieces were individually cut after being painted exact colors. The color wheel uses symmetry, as well as continuation. The piece is visually interesting because different shapes, colors, and sizes are used to create the composition. Certain areas appear to be three dimensional, including the grey values at the center, and the tertiary colors. The color itself, the shade, and the tint, come together to form a cube like box. All of the colors from the color wheel come together at the center of the piece, forming a detailed geometric shape. The piece could have been improved by getting rid of stroke marks in some areas including the grey.
