The gray scale flipper was composed of four different black and white Gestalt compositions, which had gray elements added throughout the piece. Each of the compositions were combined to make the flipper. The first image combines closure and figure ground. Gray elements are added throughout the piece to provide a sense of depth. The gray circles seem to be closer to the viewer, while the black seems to be farther away. Closure is seen in the triangle in the bottom left corner of the composition. Variety is seen in the image in the different shapes, and the different size circles. The second image combines continuation and radial continuation. The triangles appear to be coming out of the radial design and creating a sense of movement. The eye starts at the center of the page and moves towards the upper right while bleeding off the page. The triangles seem to be going off into space, while the rest of the composition is centered on the page.
