The first gray value Gestalt composition is radial continuation. Light gray circles were added on top of the largest ring of circles, which makes the ring appear the closest to the viewer. The second ring has gray which is a bit darker than the outer ring. The inner ring is the black, which appears to be the farthest away (also because it is the smallest). Rounded triangles were added to some of the circles to add visual interest to the piece. The piece shows not only radial continuation, but radial symmetry and order as well. Variety is seen in the size of circles, as well as the color. Two of the main principles of design used are balance and rhythm which add a sense of depth to the piece.
The second gray value Gestalt composition is continuation as well. The bottom right corner starts of as black, and the triangles get lighter and lighter until they reach a light gray at the top right of the piece. The gradual change in color adds a sense of depth to the page, along with the change in size. he change in size and color display variety, however the piece also shows rhythm and movement. The triangles work together to create a flow across the page.
The third gray value Gestalt composition is figure ground. Three circles were added along the edge of the black and white. Half of the circles are a dark gray, and the other half is a lighter gray. The darker gray is on top of the black, and the lighter gray is on the white. Dark and light gray circles were added throughout the composition to add visual interest. Slits were added on the black shape on the right of the piece to give texture. One of the pain principles of design used in the piece is unity. Although there are many different shapes, sizes, and colors, the piece still comes together to form a whole.
The fourth gray value gestalt composition is closure. Three circles of different gray values were added in the background of the piece, giving it a sense of depth. The lighter pieces appear to be closer, while the darker pieces appear to be further away. A light gray was also added on top of the lines, causing them to appear closer. Texture was added to the white circle on the left of the piece. Triangles were cut out, and stick out of the page, which also give the piece depth. The main principle of design found in the piece is variety. There are numerous shapes, sizes, and colors used.
